The 10′ (3m) EX Reefer, i.e. a former refrigerated container, is a cost-effective alternative when you need a thermally insulated container. These are reefer containers, originally designed for freight transport, but with the refrigeration at the end removed and replaced by a sandwich panel. The containers are covered on all sides with strong 40–80mm urethane insulation, ensuring good thermal properties for year-round use without condensation problems. The interior surfaces of EX reefers are made of stainless steel and aluminum, thanks to which they withstand moisture and heavy use and can be easily washed with e.g. a high-pressure washer.

The containers are by default equipped with a T-grate floor, meaning that water will not accumulate on the floor but drain out via water outlets adjacent to the doors and corners. We can also install a level floor in all containers for, e.g. trolleys. The end of the container has standard lockable double doors. We supply all our containers with light-coloured overpainting and, if you wish, you may also request an external colour of your choice. Lighting, heating, inlets and shelves are also available as extra equipment. This container is an excellent frame for a custom container!

The containers are suitable for international transport (CSC). However, if you’re looking for a container primarily for freight use, we recommend you to choose a 20′ container since that is cheaper to transport on a ship.

The 10′ (3m) ex-reefer, i.e. a former refrigerated container, is an excellent solution when you need a heavy-duty container with thermal insulation that also withstands moisture. Ex-reefers are often used for storage and freight transport.

  2. 40 Foot shipping containers require a minimum of 110 feet of space to back into in order to slide off onto the ground in the desired area. A minimum of 12’ width is needed for maneuvering.
  3. The delivering area must be hardtop such as pavement, asphalt, compacted soil, gravel and any other strong surface able to support a tractor trailer or flat bed to drive upon. The area must not be soft, sharp, have pot holes, overgrown brush or be hazardous to access.
  4. If delivering on grass or dirt, it’s important to keep an eye on the weather and avoid wet days and reschedule accordingly.

  8. In the event a truck gets stuck in a soft area on the property, it is the responsibility of the property owner to resolve at their own expense for the truck to be pulled out by a local recovery service – please make sure the area is suitable for delivery and there are no obstructions.
  9. In the event a truck shows up for delivery and the area is blocked by vehicles, construction equipment, locked gates or has inadequate space for delivery, the cost for the full delivery and return is at the responsibility of the purchaser. Trucks waiting for an area to be made accessible may charge an hourly rate 30 – 60 mins after arrival.
